Food Drives at Woodstock Elementary School and Union Arena collected a large quantity of food that stocked the shelves bounteously.
The Arena Drive brought in lots of vegetables and soups, pasta, rice, applesauce and beans (baked, black, pinto, etc.) and large cans of beef stew.
The WES Drive yielded a sort of 12 Days of Christmas with:
11 grocery bags filled with cold cereal
1 large box filled with cereal
1 Large box with canned fruit
1 large box filled with toiletries ( soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, etc)
1 large box filled with pasta
1 large box filled with peanut butter
1 box with tuna fish
1 box filled with soup
There were also donations of cash, to support the food shelf’s purchases of food in the coming weeks. WES requested that instead of buying gifts for teachers that students donate food or cash to the food shelf.
Thanks to everyone who organized, donated, check expiration dates and delivered food!
Happy New Year!
