Once again, the Woodstock Community Food Shelf has completed its annual Thanksgiving Project. The planning for this event starts in July. Canned good are bought,( think cranberry sauce, pie fillings, stuffing, and gravy.) The week before the event, produce (potatoes, turnips, onions) is donated and bought. The last buying step is turkeys, almost 150 of them. Set up takes some time, but at last the day arrives to pick up baskets. More than 140 baskets were given out on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This is a community effort with many items being donated, and many volunteer hours put in,. We are thankful for the whole community that makes this happen.
