A typical Thanksgiving basket for a family of 4, for example would include:
A frozen turkey in the 14 pound range; stuffing mix; gravy; cranberry sauce; fresh produce, which we purchase closer to the November 22 distribution date. The average cost of a basket is around $36.00 to complete.
Any of the non-perishable items, or a frozen turkey that you would like to purchase to assist us in completing these baskets is most appreciated. A monetary donation is also most appreciated.
Checks can be made payable to the ‘Woodstock Community Food Shelf’, and can either be dropped off at 217 Maxham Meadow Way, or mailed to PO Box 570, Woodstock, Vt. 05091.
Food items can be dropped off at the Woodstock Community Food Shelf Mondays from 4-6 pm, Wednesdays from 1-3pm, and Saturday from 10am-12pm. If these times are not convenient for you, phone the Food Shelf directly at 457-1185 to speak with a volunteer, or phone Sally Gottlieb at 457-4057, or Sheila Murray at 457-1701.

Our families are good people who have fallen on hard times, and they are very much appreciative of the food that we as a community provide. The food that is provided for them at Thanksgiving continues to feed their bodies and souls well past the day itself. A palpable degree of stress will be removed from their lives because of your assistance. It means more than you can imagine.
Last year the Woodstock Community Food Shelf gave out all the fixings for Thanksgiving dinners for 200 families.
