Food Drive (with Santa)

On Saturday, December 19, the Village Butcher Shop and Gillingham’s in Woodstock will join forces to help the Woodstock Food Shelf for families in need this winter.

According to George Racicot of the Village Butcher, “Everyone should be mindful of the needs of others, especially at this time of year. We and our neighbors, FH Gillingham’s, are holding a joint food collection event at our businesses on the 19th.”

Racicot indicates no perishable foods can be accepted, but any canned or dry packaged items are welcome. They may be purchased at either or both stores or brought in and deposited in special collection boxes.

Youngsters have an added reason for coming to the event. Santa Claus will be there between 10 am and 2 pm, and also kids will be treated to free hot chocolate and cookies.
